This book is barely a book, more of a collection of paper dolls for grown-ups.
Comprised of photos of Marilyn on kitsch (but not cute) backgrounds the book would be bad enough without the irrelevant and dim-witted comments below each doll. It is clearly a half-hearted attempt to capitalize on Marilyn iconic class, style, beauty and poise without the authors having to put a days work into it. It accompanies other books in the “Punch Out and Play” series such as “Elvis: Your Personal Fashion Consultant” and “Liberace: Your Personal Fashion Consultant” books which I am sure are equal in nature and merit to this one. This book is destined to be glanced at then discarded, with its little punch out paper dolls floating around the corners of attics and basements for generations. (Abrams Image)
